This week, your friends Count Vardulon and DM celebrate Christmas by watching two terrible Christmas-themed horror movies and third film that was actually okay. In an unexpected twist, two of the movies share something else in common, something very un-Christmassy indeed. Tune in to find out who's obsessing over something stupid, and stay to hear about a terrible deal.
Actually there is a Hammett approved sequel to The Maltese Falcon that aired as an episode of Suspence on January 10, 1948. Its worth a listen - the Sam Spade radio show was half comedy & half detective & almost completely different from Hammett's own work. Damned shame Howard Duff got blackballed by Tail Gunner Joe's goons.
ReplyDeleteAll the stories in The Tales from the Crypt movie (1st EC screen adaption) are from the original EC comics including the Monkey's Paw one - justice didn't always work out in their stories. If'n you do another anthology themed show you might consider The Vault of Horror to complete the set. Toss in a few Amicus films as well.
Damn I can't spell!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the radio Sam Spade sequel - although I can't be too excited, after all, this is the same iteration of the Sam Spade character who shilled for Wildroot Cream Oil in the back pages of Police Comics.
