This week on TheAvod your friends Count Vardulon and DM wax philosophical about JJ Abrams' latest space epic, and nothing else! Except for a bunch of random crap. Tune in to hear who's not going to see Superman and stay to find out why Bioshock Infinite is even better than you think.
technically isn't Star Trek Into Darkness a retelling of Space Seed more than it's a remake of Wrath of Khan?
ReplyDeleteWhat is this "Space Seed" of which you speak? Seriously, I've never heard of it.
DeleteIt's a mix of the two - in this version the events of Space Seed (a superman is thawed out, turns against his rescuers) occur mostly before the film starts, then a few of the events of Wrath of Khan happen. They're not as good, but they're just similar enough to Wrath to ruin that movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.
DeleteSo bravo on that, JJ!
Also, if a 2 football-field length room suddenly had a 5'x5' vacuum at one end and I was all the way at the other, I feel like it wouldn't have enough force to pick me up and fly me 200 yards in a few seconds, what with there being almost no air pressure behind me. I might get knocked over by the wind, but that feels like it would be all.
Here's a tip, future - if you've built an artificial gravity machine that, when damaged, can turn 'left' into 'down', do not let anyone use that machine. Take out its ability to do anything but 'down', and make it so if it malfunctions, people just float. That is a way, way safer option.
