198 - Breast and Beheading Overdose
This week your friends Count Vardulon and DM waste a lot of their time (and yours) with their Loonie Movie selection. Only slightly less time-wasty is a Slither/The Faculty rip-off that for unknown reasons features Laughlin Munro. Scary or Die, on the other hand, was surprising in ways that couldn't have been anticipated. Tune in to find out if The Following still sucks, and stay to hear the worst idea for a superhero movie. Dorklords, click here!
Poll results (DM apologizes for forgetting to announce them): Who runs the underground fights in your town?
Vampires, but you wouldn't know it 16%
A consortium of dark wizards and lizardmen 68%
Brick Top 0%
I do 16%

1 vote for covering The Faculty. Josh Hartnett may or may not have taken up a bit of my wall space in high school. I'm also still convinced that Cabin in the Woods throws a nod to The Faculty as the incident in 1998 when the company failed to come through on their duties.
ReplyDeleteYes, King Size is 4 cups! No Canadian superiority on that one!
ReplyDeleteWe still get three in the regular package, though. I'll bring some to the next lawnmower parade :P
DeleteI am looking forward to Guardians of the Galexies for this reason and this reason only: Rocket Raccoon.

and yes, in the comic, he is basically the same, with a huge arsinal of oversized weapons he pulls out of nowhere. (example: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvnutuYEhy1qcx9hmo1_500.jpg) Though i have to say, if they get anyone other than Greg Ellis to voice him, it is not going to sound right at all.
As long as I'm commenting, marvel and DC should get together to release a squirrel girl and aquaman variety hour! :P
I'm the one who's been asking for the Ant Man movie - that was one of my favorites when I was a kid and Marvel only had like four superhero characters other than the Fantastic Four, yep, MMMS #31194 - that's me! You don't appreciate characters like the Scarlet Beetle, the Porcupine and Egghead enough, not to mention every third story featuring a Soviet/Red Chinese supervillain. Whippersnapper young dorkoids, "bah" as Stan Lee used to have all his characters say.
ReplyDeleteAgain thanks for a fine loonie movie which I will avoid and 'Scary or Die' which I will try to see. Now I will be preoccupied with figuring out just how one does kill a wereclown. I suspect it may require a silver-plated rubber chicken.
Scarlet Beetle? Egghead??
DeleteBack in '63 they were cutting edge - a giant mutated intelligent beetle & a bald guy with a biggish head.
DeleteSo nice hearing someone else point out how crummy "Roman" was. I watched about 50 hours (real time: about half an hour) of that movie before I gave up on it. what was it that Roman did on sundays?
ReplyDeleteOn Sundays Roman cuts off a piece of Kristen Bell's rotting corpse (which he keeps on ice in his bathtub) and has a picnic in the country. Then he dumps the body part and heads back into town.
DeleteFun!
Some how that seems even less interesting than what I remember seeing.
DeleteThere is a limit to how long I will eat leftovers from the same meal, even Kristen Bell.
DeleteI think you guys were a little easy on Scary or Die. Clowned WAS clearly the best of the lot, but I think even as a short it overstayed its welcome.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you there. Maybe we were so nice because the other films were so bad.
