194 - Dear David Wong

This week on TheAvod, your friends Count Vardulon and DM have a huge bone to pick with David Wong. They also rail against low rent horror movie Bear and the Syfy original Mothman. The Nicholas Cage vehicle Seeking Justice, on the other hand, gets a pass. Tune to hear who's likes cider, and stay to find out who just achieved a major accomplishment in a field that doesn't matter.

Poll results: Which historical mash-up would you most like to see next?
Genghis Khan busting ghosts  33%
Oliver Cromwell's life as an exorcist  33%
Louis Riel hunting werewolves
Charlie Chaplin's fight against alien cyborgs  33%
*results differ from those reported on the show

Happy birthday, Mom!

  1. I googled Okanagan cider and now I want to try to the peach one. Also, when I was little I really wanted to be a cryptozoologist until I found out it wasn't a real academic field. Archaeology was my second choice. I wish Florida had an ogopogo instead of stupid skunk apes.

  2. Yeah, skunk apes blow. Maybe we could invent a creature that lives in the Everglades. Or something that eats freshmen and people who ask stupid questions.

I knew a guy who also wanted very much to be a cryptozoologist. He's a lawyer now.

Although the Okanagan cider is yummy, still the greatest cider I've ever tasted was that Woodchuck autumnal blend. Ian and I drove all over Tally one day looking for it. But it was gone! Gone!

  3. I got some of the Woodchuck Fall this time around. It was good, but I like the spring blend the best out of the seasonals. They had Woodchuck pumpkin at World Market this past fall, too. My favorite one is out right now, though - bourbon barrel aged ("Woodchuck private reserve barrel select"). Maybe I can mail you a couple bottles.
